What is
being proactive? we at TMG thinks Proactivity as an individual that takes
responsibilities in hand and does the right things on the right time.
Proactivity is not a skill but a lifestyle and a way of human behavior. It can
be changed to achieve targets and to set goals. Proactive people are
successful and tend to complete more tasks than reactive people. Reactive
people on the other hand procrastinate the professional and personal
objectives in their daily lives, they do not realize the importance of
completing a task until the deadline hits them. Reactive people are more
reactive to situations and do not see the situational rationally, they tend to
react to it rather than understanding and solving the problem.
let us look at these 5 basic steps to achieve the highest level of Proactivity:
Taking Charge:
We’re in charge. We choose the scripts by which to live our lives. Use this self-awareness to be proactive and take responsibility for your choices. Proactive people recognize that they have responsibility -- or "response-ability," which we defines as the ability to choose how you will respond to a given stimulus or situation. This habit is explained in detail in the book "The 7 habits of highly effective people" by Stephen Covey Taking charge refers to taking reponsibility to our own action and realising our own mistakes for the consequences
Setting Targets:
Setting a target is not about guessing what you can achieve. It about knowing where you are now, what are you lacking, and determining challenging but realistic goals needed to get there. to set a target one needs to write down their current goals that they are neglecting and then prioritize them to make changes in their current performance. one needs to know what do they want to target and by when will they should accomplish them. You can set anything as your target, be it personal or professional objectives. it may be that new singing class you always wanted to join or to start your day with a bit of yoga. Anything and everything should be prioritized and achieved before the set date. one needs to also consider about how to achieve or how long will it take to achieve their targets and should be patient while they gain confidence in implementing this habit. it is our own willingness that makes us proactive
Keeping the end in Mind:
End in Mind means to
begin each day, task, or project with a clear vision of your desired direction
and destination, and then continue by flexing your proactive muscles to make
things happen. One of the best ways to incorporate this Habit into your life is
to develop a Personal Mission Statement and realizing the consequences of
not completing a task
on time.It is important to know what to do when and why to do it. This step
helps an individual set priorities on the basis of the future feeling of
accomplishment of that task.
Eating Right:
Eating healthy does not refers to skipping meals, it means
eating healthy and in proper quantity and quality. Not to over stuff our bodies
with unnecessary unhealthy food, and making the the body less responsive to
situations and work at had. A healthy diet will keeps us active and also boosts
your cognitive skills. When you eat healthy you are much more happier and
proactive than reactive people. Eating a lot of food at once increases sugar
levels, which lowers concentration and makes us more negligent toward our
priorities. Eating healthy also helps in increasing your confidence &
self esteem. This is by far the most important insight to achieving
proactivity.
Self-Motivation:
One needs to be self motivated to be proactive. Without self motivation the individual does not have the willingness to accept challenges or setting goals. Self motivation is staying motivated with one’s own interest and willingness. One of the main reasons why self motivation is important in life is that it does not let you depend on others and you can achieve success in your own goals and objectives that you set on the basis of your abilities. Self-motivation is a good way to develop a proper mindset that allows one to be a sensible person who can deal with various situations effectively and efficiently.
